What My Days Feel Like Lately (Early Spring Edition)
Lately, my days have felt… different.
Not in a dramatic, everything-has-changed kind of way — but in a softer, more noticeable shift.
Part of that is because this hasn’t been a typical “reset” season.
Right after my layoff, I spent about two months in Milwaukee (my hometown) caring for my mom while she recovered from knee replacement surgery. I had only been laid off for less than two weeks before I went straight into caretaker mode.
And if you’ve ever been in a season like that, you know… it’s a lot.
It was chaotic, emotional, and nonstop in a completely different way.
For context, I’ve been in Dallas since 2013, and before that, I spent almost nine years living in Chicago — so going back to Milwaukee, being in that environment again, and stepping into that role all at once… yeah, it was a shift.
So now that I’m back home, this season feels like my real reset.
Not starting over — just finally slowing down enough to find my rhythm again.
🌿 Slow, Gentle Mornings
Right now, I’m not waking up to alarms.
I try to be up around 9:00 a.m., but I’m letting my body lead a little more than usual.
My mornings have been soft and intentional:
Bible reading
Gratitude journaling
10 minutes of yoga (I love a good challenge — shoutout to Yoga with Kassandra on YouTube 🧘🏽♀️)
5 minutes of meditation
And listen… meditation is new for me 😭
But I’ve really been leaning into mindfulness lately.
Fun fact: I took Buddhism in college and had to drop it because I was definitely going to fail. I don’t do busy work, and that class was nothing but busy work.
But somehow, we’ve come full circle.
Now I’m listening to audiobooks like Peace Is Every Step and 10% Happier, and it’s been such a grounding way to start the day.
☀️ Moving Through the Day Differently
I’ve been a lot more mindful about how I move through my days — especially when it comes to what I’m putting into my body.
Nothing extreme, nothing restrictive — just simple, consistent choices:
Starting the day with my fat burner + protein coffee
Greek yogurt bowls with fruit, honey, and granola
A salad with protein for lunch
Chicken, veggies, and rice or potatoes for dinner
Very “we’re getting back on track, but we’re not doing the most” energy.
I’m also casually looking for a job… very casually 😭
Because let’s be real — the job market right now is chaotic, and I am surviving as is.
So my main focus has been setting up systems for my side hustles and business ventures, and building something that actually feels aligned.
🌸 Early Spring Energy
There’s something about early spring that just makes everything feel lighter.
The weather, the longer days, the way the sun hits in the evening — it all feels like a quiet fresh start.
I’ve been:
going on walks 4–6 days a week
trying to get back into lifting 4 days a week
getting outside more (because being in the house all day is not it 😭)
And Texas is showing out right now.
The bluebonnets are blooming, the animals are coming back out, and every walk feels like a little nature moment.
Sometimes I’ll keep a steady pace…
and sometimes I’ll stop, take pictures, or just sit by the pond for a few minutes and take it all in.
🌿 The Little Things That Are Making Me Feel Good
Lately, it’s really been the small things:
sitting on my balcony with my plants
getting my peppers and tomato plants ready for the season
working on my website and blog content
slowly creating my first product launch — Bloom Season (Spring Edition) 🌸
journaling, reading (More Than Enough right now), and listening to audiobooks
Even something as simple as a long shower with a good oil after?
Top tier.
🧹 Resetting My Space
I’ve also been in a full spring reset mode at home.
Cleaning, organizing, rearranging… all the things.
Nothing dramatic — just making my space feel calm, functional, and like somewhere I actually enjoy being.
Because for me, when my environment feels good, everything else flows a little easier.
And let’s be honest — aesthetic is basically my middle name. I’m a Libra ♎️
If I don’t see pretty around me… pretty will not come from me 😌✨
💭 What This Season Feels Like
If I had to describe this season in one word?
Intentional.
Not perfect. Not fully structured. Not all figured out.
Just… intentional.
I’m not rushing into a strict routine.
I’m not forcing anything to click overnight.
I’m just showing up, doing what I can, and letting things come together naturally.
And honestly?
That feels better than anything I’ve tried before.
✨ Closing
This season may look slow from the outside…
But it feels like progress to me.
And right now, that’s more than enough.
